==================================================================== File: LiView_v1.2_beta5_PPC.zip Author: Philippe Thomas (tphilippe@sdv.fr) Release: 1.2 beta5 (08/04/98) Compatibility: R3 Location: contrib/gfx/viewers Description: Multi-image viewer Notes: ==================================================================== LiView is an image viewer of a special kind since it displays a palette containing little representation of bigger pictures (thumbnails), aligned in a grid. By this mean, you've got all pictures on screen and you can easily choose which one to display. It is possible to organize the thumbnails as you like on the palette, and to save it. You can have as many opened palettes as available memory. When a big picture is displayed, LiView offers a zoom mode, where the entire picture is zoomed to fit the current window size. It's fine when you want to see everything of a very big picture. Warning : Beta version ! ---------------------- This is still a beta version. So there are probably lots of bugs around. If you find any, don't hesitate to contact me (tphilippe@sdv.fr) ! Known bugs : sometimes, while opening a palette, pictures don't load. What's new for version 1.2 ? -------------------------- * BeOS Release 3.x version, for PPC and x86 ; * uses the Translation Kit ; * you can now browse directories (recursively) ; * made the background of picture views transparent, so they don't flick during scrolling ; * thumbnails adapt themselves dynamically to the depth of the screen : they are displayed dithered on a 8 bit color space, and colorful on a 24 bit color space ; * thanks to Edmund Vermeulen, LiView is now able to : - decode pictures progressively - save pictures in another format * now using the Thumbnail lib, by Thorsten Seitz, while saving pictures, to have nice icons ; * picture decoding is now done in separate threads, so windows aren't blocked anymore while loading pictures ; * when pictures can't be found while opening a palette (for example, you move palettes and pics from one disk to another), LiView will try to locate those pics. * lots of other little changes and bug fixes.
